The Key Peninsula Civic Center is a historic facility maintained by a volunteer Board of Directors. Rental Requests for events or large parties with potential to cause damage to our building or grounds may require special approval by the Board, and may require a Refundable Deposit equal to the Rental Fee.
GYMNASIUM * Capacity: 300 The Gymnasium is home to many activities and special events, including skate parties, scout meetings, workshops, weddings, anniversary parties, classes, fundraisers, receptions, banquets, dances, graduation ceremonies, memorials and more. The Gym is adjacent to the kitchen, making your next catered event a breeze. Rental of this area includes access to the lower balcony and stage. Saturday bookings fill up far in advance, so book your event early!! VFW ROOM * Capacity: 40 This bright and sunny room is the perfect place for your smaller gathering. Located in the Annex building behind the main civic center, next door to the Key Peninsula Historical Society Museum, the VFW is a wonderful room for your next birthday party, small meeting, class and more. COMMERCIAL KITCHEN We're proud to have a beautiful, all stainless-steel kitchen capable of supporting a staff of 20 for your event. The kitchen is also available for catering, commercial food preparation, or cooking classes. This facility is a commercial grade, health department approved facility. Rental of the Kitchen for public events requires a Temporary Food Establishment Permit. |
WHITMORE ROOM * Capacity: 77 Located on the west side of the Civic Center, this room offers wonderful views of the lawn and picnic area. The Whitmore Room features vintage light fixtures and easy access to the kitchen. This versatile room is great for wedding ceremonies, dance classes, large meetings, lectures, classroom activities, game days, book fairs, art shows, birthday parties and more. Located next to the kitchen, the Whitmore Room makes your next luncheon or reception stress free. LIBRARY * Capacity: 40 Located above the kitchen, this room was rumored to be the “Spanish library”. Beaded board ceiling and wainscot, this space has a lovely view of our front oak tree and Vaughn Bay. It’s our most “rustic” space for rent and it is not accessible to those with mobility issues. Access is via the stairs to the upper balcony. PICNIC SHELTER The Shelter was built in 2014 through the collaborative efforts of many community organizations. The Picnic Shelter may be reserved from 8am until 9pm when the Civic Center gates close. This area is popular for family birthday parties and is adjacent to our playground and field. |
